I never appreciated it before about him, but I had to visit the ER for some stitches a week ago and , while I was waiting to be sewn up, I watched an episode of CSI. The guy could not be more wooden if he were chiseled out of oak. I actually think Shatner has more range, and that’s saying something… ---

I am not fond of Paltrow as an actress and I don’t even think see is particularly great looking by Hollywood standards. A young Jane Fonda would have played that role great. ---

I thought _Sky Captain_ was a great movie to look at, Paltrow included, but she played the part completely wrong. It needed the fast-talking girl reporter, Rosalind Russell type, but she was pensive and hesitant. I don’t know whether to blame the actress or the director. (Or maybe the casting director, since I’ve never seen Paltrow play a role that would make me see her in this one.) I can’t really see Jane Fonda doing it either. Her roles at the time were always a bit passive; things happen to her, and she gets to show her steely resolve in dealing with them. The girl-reporter is supposed to be a driving force. Ironically, the 70’s actress who would have been perfect in _Sky Captain_ is Blythe Danner. ---

I mentioned Sky Captain because it was a film that otherwise I would have wanted to see, but it had Angelina Jolie, whom I’d mentioned upthread as loathing. ---

I have an irrational hatred of Chloe Sevigny and Elijah Wood. As for those already mentioned, add me to: Tom Hanks (he just seems the epitome of crappy big budget Hollywood swill) Robin Williams (was funny when I was 10; now that I’m not, he just grates) Mariska Hargitay (I can’t even put my finger on it - nor would I want to) Al Pacino (his method of portraying any emotion is to scream) Julia Roberts (her fucking cackle that she does in every damn movie makes me want to slap her) Pretty much any huge “comedic” actor (Martin Lawrence, Will Ferrell, Jim Carey, Adam Sandler) because none of them are actually funny I’m also not a big fan of Denzel Washington (his line readings always strike me as odd, and he seems to be trying to use a Sidney Poitier “dignified” speech pattern) or Ryan Phillipe (he may be a good actor, but he always comes across to me as a petulant little bitch) ---

Kristen Kreuk. I know, she’s an actress that I’ve only seen in one show (Smallville) but that was enough to poison my opinion of her permanently. Allison Mack is a thousand times as talented, yet KK gets the love… That Napoleon Dynamite guy. I don’t even care what his name is, I hated his movie, I hate him, and I want to drop him into a pit of fire ants every time I see him. ---

She has screen credit in Quebec, including in the mini series “Des fleurs sur la neige”. She actually did kind of ok, to be honest. In a way, maybe she should have stuck with THAT… 😉 ---

Joaquin Phoenix Cleft-chin arrogant piece of shit! Nobody else has mentioned him. Am I missing something? I supposed that’s why it’s called irrational…still though…he deserves a good choking! Lay off of Seth Rogan. If you ever see the “Freaks and Geeks” series you would hate yourself for once hating him! Not a versitile actor by any means, but his character is fantastic in some settings. ---
