You’re right, I should have been more descriptive in my post. My apologies. I was looking for different characters in unrelated films.
If instead of James McAvoy as Professor X, they had gone with Tom Hardy, that would have been what I was looking for, since he technically played a younger Picard in Star Trek Nemesis.
Or to stretch my premise a bit, if they used the same actor for two different remakes playing the same characters as the original actor. For instance, if they made a T.J. Hooker movie starring Chris Pine, as that would make two characters that he and William Shatner both portrayed.
I agree Baker is the only one who found an example that’s fully in keeping with the spirit of what the OP wanted. But Superdude and I were within the letter of the OP.
