Burgess Meredith already looked old as a [Lieutenant in in WWII](http://www.lonesentry.com/blog/the-rear-gunner.html). Certainly older than that hack from the Bonzo movies who plays his CO. ---

I’d say Burt Lancaster looked pretty much the same from around 1948 to at least the late '60s. ---
