Another entry into “well-built, but I thought he was taller”: Adewale Akkinuoye-Agbaje. According to IMDB, he’s “only” 6’2". (Also, he’s another example who didn’t come from sports; he was a model at one point, however.) ---

She’s long-legged, but also broad-shouldered and fairly muscular. ---

Also not all that tall but able to play bigger: 6’2", 248 pound Alex Karras. I see nobody’s mentioned 6’5" Michael Clarke Duncan yet. ---

How many of these heights are actually real? I have stood next to Dave Bautista and he is not 6’6. He is probably closer to 6’2. ---

While Jackman is taller than Wolverine (heck, every big name actor except Tom Cruise and Peter Dinklage is taller than Wolverine…), the movies did their best to keep Sabretooth looking much larger than Wolvie, both with Schrieber and with that-other-guy I can’t be arsed to look up right now. It’s isn’t just a matter of imposing presence. ---

I saw him a few years back doing a one-man song and dance show on Broadway, and he was flat out scrawny. He made a lot of jokes about that fact. He said he’s naturally slim, and when he does a lot of dancing, he sheds weight like crazy. He drives Marvel nuts when he does that, because they’re afraid he’ll look too svelte to play Wolverine. I think that’s the reason he FINALLY ditched the role. To him, it was a major nuisance spending months eating egg whites and working out to put on muscle. ---
