David Hyde Pierce once said he’d been told to play a serial killer in order to break out of his _Frasier_ typecasting. He could pull it off, too. Patrick Stewart could make a very chilling crazy guy. He’s getting great reviews for his stage turn in the lead of _Macbeth_ right now. ---

[/QUOTE] Yeah, that was one of the great stage performances I’ve seen. Patrick Stewart is such a commanding presence that when you see cracks in it, it’s really amazing. I’ve only seen a few minutes of his _Moby Dick_: I paid for a copy, but Blockbuster sold me an empty box. I managed to get his autograph anyway, so it wasn’t the worst gift I’ve ever given, but it was close.
