Far better than the original choices of David Spade/Chris Farley or Ben Stein/Robin Williams.
Okay, I came in here figuring that DeNiro’s portrayal of the young Vito Corleone in Godfather II would have been mentioned by the third post. What, are you people uncultured or something?
Actually, Patti LuPone was only thirty when she was in Evita in 1979. Madonna was thirty-eight when she did the movie version.
I have the cast recording of the recent Broadway production (not technically a revival since the original never transferred to Broadway) and Hunter Foster is amazing as Seymour. Of course, you only get to hear him sing the songs, which doesn’t tell you much about the way he acted the part, but I saw him in Urinetown, and I have no doubt he could pull it off.
I can point to a whole slew of overworked Voice Actors who get hated by the “purists” for “ruining” their favorite anime experience.
(I’m mostly on the “subtitled” side, but there are a few English voices that don’t make me feel like my ears are bleeding.)
The american Kagato was much better than the Japanese. I would also note that Mark Hamil is the Joker–Jack nicholson had a great script and did a great job acting, but he was just too heavy for the role.
Did anyone see the Garfield movie? I fear the day anyone makes me watch it, but I do wonder whether Bill Murray was able to succeed against Lorenzo Music?
No Star Trek fans here? How do we feel about Kirstie Alley being replaced by Robin Curtis? I wasn’t too pleased… back at that time Kirstie Alley was hot. She also brought a hint of emotion to the role, furthering the fan speculation that she is part Romulan. Robin Curtis played it straight Vulcan.
I thought Nick Stahl did a nice job taking over for Eddie Furlong for T3. People thought he was weak but give him some credit: he had been up all night after a motorcyle accident and was all whacked on drugs he stole from a vet clinic when the shit hit the fan. I admired his performance.
The worst one has to be from the Alien franchise. Whichever actress they got to play the part of dead Newt in Alien 3 was twice the original actresses age and had different colored hair!
