Actors whose voices you don't like

While I didn’t mind the cheesiness of 1998’s** Lost in Space **remake I did wish that somebody would keep Lacey Chabert away from the helium she’d been sucking down before her every scene. Does she still sound like that?

Debra Wringer
and that other actress that reminds me her and that I always confuse with her. She played Lois Lane in the Supreman films.

Viggo Mortensen. Sure, he’s a great actor, I’d even like to look like him. But under no cicrumstances would I want to have or to listen to more than necessary his squeaky, whiny voice. It always sounds like he needs to clear his throat.

Matt Frewer

The voice of Max Headroom. He also guest starred on ST:TNG as a time traveller visiting the Enterprise.

It’s so nasally smug, I just hate it. He talks right out his nose, and he sounds like he proud of it, too. And he does this wierd breath thing, too, like he uses all his air for each bit of talking he does. Just can’t stand it.

Speaking of wierd breath things- Bobcat Goldthwait makes this odd throat noise in between his sentences that also bothers me. I think its from the way he sucks in air when he pauses. Very annoying.

Harvey Fierstein - his voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Juliette Lewis. she sounds like a mentally challenged child. Now, I don’t mean that as an insult, I mean, that’s the first thing I think of when I hear her voice, and I don’t find it very applealing.

Fran Drescher
Rosie O’Donnell
Rosie Perez
Zsa Zsa Gabor
Mya Rudolph as Donatella Versace

(commercial just came on, and it reminded me)
Anna Nicole Smith (Want a Viper? Want some money? Like my body?)

Yeah.

I just want to jump in and defend Donald Sutherland. His voice is unusual, but I love it.

I also think Hoffman’s got a decent voice, when he speaks without affectation. When he did voicework for an episode of the Simpsons many years back, I remember that I couldn’t place his voice at first, but I found it very pleasant.

I can’t think of a bad voice off the top of my head, aside from the obvious (Glibert Gottfried, Fran Drescher).

Oh, I loooove Donald Sutherland’s voice, but why the heck are they using him to do the voice-over on those orange juice commercials?? He’s talking about the oranges being all tucked in for the night or some such idiocy…but in that creepy Canadian voice of his… It’s like, “Oh look at the happy oranges. The warm juicy oranges. I think I’ll go and STAB THEM TO DEATH WITH ICICLES!!!” Or something. They just shouldn’t let Canadians advertise orange juice.

Keanu Reeves. Dude.

Although sometimes I like to rent his movies, turn the sound down, and just enjoy.

“Trimspa baby”

shudders

She looks like she’s been deep fried in that commercial.

I was thinking Startrek as well; however, for me Kate Mulgrew takes the cake.

I like Mulgrew’s voice. I thought it fit the role well, too.

Maybe that’s it, he seems to always have this affectation that borders on speach impediment in the various parts I remember him playing. Graduate, Rain Man, Marathon Runner (title?), and recently Sphere (what a promising film to fail so bad) all seemed to have a level of such affectation and just seemed way to similar for such highly different characters.

Oh and Donald Sutherland has a very interesting voice, and what’s not to like about someone who appears in a Kate Bush video (cloudbursting).

He’s so pretty.

And I’d just like to second all the nominations of Anna Nicole Smith.

For some reason, I can’t think of Donald Sutherland’s voice. I keep hearing Kiefer’s voice instead, and I just love Kiefer’s voice.

Are you thinking of Margot Kidder ?

Both have a husky voice.

I can’t think of one off the top of my head, but I will jump in and place kaylasmom’s nomination: Eddie Deezen.

For those of you playing at home, he provides the voice of Mandark in Dexter’s Laboratory. And for those yof you playing from a movie theatre, he provides the voice of Know-It-All in The Polar Express.

Adam Sandler’s voice is always at least a little bit grating. And of course, Fran Drescher is a given. eh-eh-eh-eh-eh-ehhhhh.
