I second Alec Guiness. Watch “Bridge on the River Kwai” and “The Horse’s Mouth” back to back and see. Or “Kind Hearts and Coronets.”

Brando in his prime: “The Godfather”, “Burn!”, “A Streetcar Named Desire”, “The Wild One.”

Peter O’Toole: “The Ruling Class”, “My Favorite Year”, “The Stunt Man”, “Lawrence Of Arabia.”

This is one of those I-am-suprised/stunned/mad-that no-one-has-named…

My vote goes for Robert Duvall. The guy who plays biggish roles but never gets noticed! Remember Tom Hagen in “The Godfather” to the apostle and “Gone in Sixty seconds” and of course Major Frank Burns in the MASH movie…
