One thought - how fucking stupid do those PR people have to be, to drag Taylor Swift into this? Because that’s going to end well…
Never heard of any of these people, until this.
Could it be one of those things like Johnny Depp v. Amber Heard, where nobody came out of it looking good?
This is Hollywood. You’re expecting far too much.
Blake was great in A Simple Favor.
One thing I have gathered over the years by watching Ryan Reynold’s interviews and stuff is that a) he loves his job and b) he loves his wife. The second one’s important, because he’s a big star, and therefore Baldoni is in a lot of trouble. Which pleases me.
Yes, in that they used the same PR rep to undermine Lively’s reputation that Depp used to slander Heard. In fact, the PR rep used the same Norwegian “journalist” to attack bothe Heard and Lively.
And Jones, the owner of Joneswork where Abel worked, is now suing Baldoni for breach of contract (for dropping Joneswork when Abel left) and defamation.
It looks like Baldoni has taken up suing as a hobby:
It seems like he’s a little out of touch with reality. He’s coming across as narcissist with a persecution complex. Going after the NY Times and Marvel/Disney seems like it could be very costly for him.
It may be that his career is shot now, so suing is his only possible source of income.
His goal isn’t to come across well; that ship has already sailed. The goal is to throw mud in every direction until people are sick of the whole situation and are left thinking that everyone involved is terrible, not just him. It’s the Johnny Depp defense.
The whole Nicepool thing is just - insane. As in - paranoid lunacy. Even if Nicepool were a caricature of Baldoni, he’s not portrayed as anything but a nice guy and eventually a victim, in the movie.
Update: Baldoni’s $400 M lawsuit against Lively and Reynolds has been dismissed for failure to fix pleadings.
Background is that a while ago, the court granted Lively’s application to strike the pleadings, but with leave to Baldoni to amend them to fix the defects.
Baldoni did not apply to do so by the deadline.
On October 14 the court issued a show cause order, giving Baldoni two weeks to show cause why he hadn’t amended the pleadings.
On October 31, nothing had been filed by Baldoni, so the court issued a final order of dismissal.
