Git-Yo Chicken has gone out of business. They turned the building into a catfish place, which then also closed. I don’t think there’s anything there now. I thought of a couple more: The Lost Sock Laundromat The Law Firm of Shook, Hardy & Bacon ---

There used to be a roadhouse around here called Hillbilly Heaven. Not so weird unless you know the owner was Dan Aykroyd’s father-in-law. ---

Some of my favorites: A paintball place I saw in Utah was called Pegleg Paintball and the logo was a guy in a wheelchair with a gun. The founder lost a leg (or both) in a motorcycle accident but didn’t want to stop playing paintball. I haven’t lived in all these placs but i have spent time there: In Singapore I saw a hot dog on a stick type place with the peculiar name of “Hot dog in the dip”. One of their items is a deep fried tuna dog. One of my other favorites in Hong Kong was a big sign that just said “Hair Potato”. It was on a side street with no building or floor number so you couldn’t figure out what it went to. It’s my moment of Zen. In Taiwan there have these great creampuff stands that sell nothing but creampuffs. My favorite was named Beard Papa and the logo looked kind of like Hemmingway. ---

A hair salon in Stockholm is called “Cut The Crap”. I walked by it every day for a month and never took a picture. Sigh. ---

There’s a NYC/Northern NJ business called [Dykes Lumber](http://www.dykeslumber.com/locations.asp?topimg=Header_Locations.gif). Which I always thought was funny for the same reason as “chicken lips” or “buffalo wings.” 😉 ---

These are great! I just remembered another one, a local duo called “Nerds On Site” - computer geeks who will come to your house to fix your 'puter. There’s also a business nearby called Cumming-Cockburn. Yeeeeouch. ---

In Savannah there’s: The Sentient Bean - a coffee shop Vinnie Van Go-Go’s - pizza place catering primarily to the local art school crowd Dirty Harry’s - a chain of laundromats (I actually know the owner and his name is Harry). ---

Out of business few years but I did business with Phoenix’s Guns R Us/Postal Plus. One stop shopping for all your firearms and mailing needs. I wish I had gotten one of their bumper stickers with the slogan “the voices in my head told me to stay home and clean my guns today.” ---

Over in Dammam there is (or was) a meat shop called ‘Western Butchery.’ We used to have a telephone call cabin place called ‘Out of Space Telephones.’ From their design motif I presume they were trying for ‘Outer Space.’ ---

Locally, there’s a convenience store: **Swami Mart**. My favorite is something I saw back when I was taking the Cape May-Lewes Ferry about twice a year: near Lewes, DE there’s a series of signs for **Wayne Webber Well Drilling**. It just tickles my funnybone. ---

I live within an hour’s drive of **Java the Hut**. (Which isn’t far from where they filmed much of _The Birds_) And within half an hour of a place called **Donuts & Water**. I haven’t gone into either one. ---

Arkansas dopers, do ya’ll still have Mad Butcher stores? It is (or was) a chain of grocery stores decorated with a huge, vaguely Sicilian Jack Nicholson looking character weilding a butcher knife, on the wall of the store.
