This seems like a great tragedy to me, and one of liberal’s making, but I’m curious to hear thoughts on why I might be mistaken on either opinion. 1. Is this a tragedy, or a victory for equal rights for the disabled? 2. Is this somehow the fault of evil conservatives? ---

I couldn’t really follow what the link in the OP was saying. Did Berkeley pull the courses because Closed Captioning wasn’t reasonable accommodation for deaf people? ---

Anyhoo, [Berkeley’s FAQ](http://news.berkeley.edu/2017/02/24/faq-on-legacy-public-course-capture-content/) on the matter suggests the issue is considerably more complicated and nuanced than the OP’s cite suggests. Well, than the OP’s cite _whines_, to be more accurate. ---

Not seeing the nuance. The legacy lectures have been taken down to prevent a lawsuit from the DOJ. I’m going to guess that since some of the lectures were closed-captioned, they should have done them all. The videos only go back to 2006, long after the ADA took effect.
