I really, really, really don’t want European countries to lose their ethnic, cultural and religious identity, but America has always been an immigrant nation and we don’t really have a native ethnic/religious/cultural identity to lose. Some of the eastern European countries, for what it’s worth, have said they are only taking Christians, which is probably what I would do if I was running Poland, but I’m not Polish, I’m American. I’m not really in favour of cultural diversity or mass immigration in general (to say the least) but I’d rather the Syrians come here than to Europe. ---
