I saw a preview of Adam Sandler’s latest waste of time _Little Nicky_. And guess what? HE’S USING A STUPID VOICE! Can’t this idiot EVER play a role where he uses his regular voice or accent? Still, I’m waiting for his LAST movie: Adam Sandler IS Pauly Shore in the “Pauly Shore Story”. ---

Something tells me you would love the book Mike Nelson’s Movie MegaCheese by MST3K’s Michael J. Nelson. (Adam Sandler is second only to Jim Carrey in Mike’s world of Hate). ---

Pretty much all Sandler has are the cutesy baby-talk voice and the hostile-screaming voice (which he frequently uses in the same sentence). A couple of his songs – “Red-hooded Sweatshirt” and “The Lonesome Kicker,” among others – have been pretty funny, but do not justify his otherwise hideous existence. ---

Like him or not, his movies make mad money. Only Harrison Ford films make more on average. ---

Ah yes … the Adam Sandler movie. I saw it when it first came out. It was funny. When they started rereleasing it every year or so with a different name, it grew tiresome. ---

I saw the same preview. To my shame and disgust, I caught myself snickering at the “Your diabolical supernatural ability is to transform COKE into PEPSI???” joke. It was before I realized it was a Sandler film, though. He seemed to be wearing heavy makeup, or maybe he’s just getting fatter as he gets stupider. ---

Adam Sandler just needs time and confidence to lose the stupid voice. Remember Bill Murray in Caddyshack? He had his lip curled the entire movie. Then loosened up for Stripes. ---

How much time? Bill Murray was already funny on SNL before he did Caddyshack (and his lip was never curled, even when he was calling Jane Curtin an “ignorant slut”), he was funny in Caddyshack, and he continued to be funny in Stripes. Adam Sandler, OTOH, has not been funny in anything I’ve seen. Well, I liked the Hanukah song, but I didn’t actually ever _see_ that. ---

Ahhh, this thread brings a tear to my eye. It’s a good thing to realize that you’re not alone in the universe. I thought I was the only one who didn’t think he was funny. He was a year behind me in high school. I didn’t think he was funny then, and still don’t. Had to put up with the hometown paper gushing about him when he had a role on “Cosby” and then his stint on “Remote Control.” Yes, I’ll admit it. The fact that he makes over 350 times my yearly salary for one movie adds a little fuel to the fire. Damn that Lorne Michaels! ---

I admit that Adam Sandler has not broken the basic law of “work for SNL, make bad movies”, but then there are plenty of non-SNL movies that suck just as bad.
