The question is open to others, too. Sometimes I have a pretty good idea what I’ve been posting lately. Sometimes most of it has slipped my mind. No. I’ve never found something that I completely don’t remember saying. ---

In reading zombie threads, I’ve occasionally come across a post I’ve written and have absolutely no memory of. Recently read in an article (Scientific America Mind?) that people with ADD tend to have slightly different memories than neuro-typical people. More about context and emotion, less about exact details of the event. That’s extremely true in my case. ---

And to address the OP, no I don’t read what I wrote. But I do feel sorry for the people who did. ---

This makes me think that I may have ADD. Although I have always thought perhaps I did, none of the normal symptoms listed on the diagnostic sheets fit appropriately- I may have them, but not strongly enough to qualify. This memory thing though, is spot on. I have tried to write autobiographical pieces, but I get the memories all out of order, or come across my memories actually contradicting each other sometimes… Interesting. ---

Heh. I search for my posts to see if anyone has acknowledged my existence, but I usually remember what I’ve written. Bear in mind that writing is very hard for me, so any writing I do is likely to have taken a lot of time. I have run up against some old posts and thought - damn, I wrote that? That was hilarious! ---

I often look up my recent posts, but with the goal of finding out if any threads I started, or posted in, have garnered further replies. The replies needn’t be aimed at my post specifically and may simply be an interesting digression or further elaboration of the topic at hand. On at least one occasion I have completely forgotten about an OP of mine, seven or eight years after the fact. ---

I dunno if I’m ADD or not. When I was a kid, that kind of kid was just a brat. Sometimes, I click on the “number of replies” number to see if my name is in there. If it’s a 3-pager and I can’t remember if I might have posted 5 days ago. ---

Not exactly, but I have frequently found myself formulating a reply in my head and then, on continuing to read the thread, finding my own post with the reply I was thinking of already written, and will have no memory of having written it. Even if it’s just from the day before. ---

Not everyone with ADD is hyperactive. Although the latest nomenclature from the DSM-IV expands ADD to ADHD (H for hyperactive), it then takes it back again with the subset [ADHD/PI (PI for Predominantly Inattentive).](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ADHD_predominantly_inattentive) We’re the quiet ones.
