Hmm call me dubious about this whole thing- it reeks of attention whore-ism. Using my mystical powers I have devined that there is a 20% that the OP actually believes his ever changing list of mumbo jumbo and needs an intervention, and a 80% chance that somebody didn’t get enough attention as a child and now is trying to make up for it. ---

Alrighty, since it’s clear that sleep is not forthcoming tonight, and several people are begging for answers that they will not accept in private, I’ll risk my soul to the wolves and dive right back in. **Siege** – The best explanation I’ve ever come up with is the analogy of a TV screen. Our 3-D world which we live, die, work and play in, exists on the face of the 2-D tv screen. Beneath the screen – the world we cannot see (or rather, MOST people cannot see) – lie the Rhythms, which form and shape the Matrix. (This is strikingly close to the Wokowski (sp?) brothers’ vision of the MOVIE Matrix, except in my original theory, “The Matrix” ONLY applied to the world beneath, not the TV screen itself. Since '99, it’s kind of evolved to represent the whole of the universe itself. The word “Matrix”, anyway. I do NOT believe that we are all really plugged into machines that use our body heat for energy. That, to use a word that triggered this whole mess, is just plain STUPID. What’s the truth, then? Hell if I know. We _can’t_ know. At least, not until we die. But human beings _by their very nature_ require a working theory in absence of tactile fact, so here’s mine: it’s all a Game. We are here to learn lessons, to be the architects of Purpose, or to just plain have fun. Sometimes I can tell which kind of person is which, just by seeing how they act, if they are conflicted or if they are at peace, or if they are struggling “up the corporate ladder”, as it were. That’s basically it. You see, the problem with “Matrix Theory” is that it’s a work-in-progress. What I am trying to do is create a NEW religion that combines all the elements of traditional religion with SCIENCE. This may be a contradiction in terms, but I’m trying anyway. And I have the extreme disadvantage of having only myself as a “Matrix” adherent, having only worked on the theory off-and-on for the last 15 years or so, and having an extreme social disadvantage of being surrounded by people who are unable or unwilling to discuss my observations and help me see flaws in the theories I’ve come up with. There’s more, but extreme lack of sleep are preventing me from forming the right thoughts. Maybe I’ll continue in a GD thread tomorrow (that will keep the wolves at bay, since no personal attacks are allowed there, and clearly, lots of people here ENJOY ripping people to shreds, when they expose their weaknesses.) UncleBill…then I must not be a nutcase, since clearly, I made a choice to publish my “prophecy” to the world, since doing so made it UNCHANGEABLE. You see, being without Godlike powers, I cannot reverse time and make my OP say that the Devils would win. Something went wrong, and the problem is that just when I think things are making sense to other people, I find out that all they are hearing is white noise. Or, as you said, nonsensical ramblings. Funny how everyone sees this as a “meltdown” of KGS. In a sense, this sudden Matrix Event (once again, NOT a movie reference) was exactly what I needed. Things in my real life got real crazy all of a sudden, as of a few days ago, and I was having a LOT of trouble getting back to where I was. This sudden jolt of “reality” (if you like) apparently turned the trick. But let me ask you this…what is it that is so entertaining about watching “a really good meltdown”? Isn’t that, well, inherently evil? Oh, and sorry for playing the 9/11 card. I have no excuse for that. ---

Man, I should have posted last night when this thread was young. Now, all the witty retorts have been used. **KGS** , I think **manhattan** captures the city’s spirit nicely. It would be best for you to get over your problem with being called stupid because…well, enough people have already said it. **and that’s the bottom line** , it has been established that **manhattan** can indeed curse and even fling monkey crap when closing GQ threads. My SDMB search abilities are weak, else I’d link the thread where that was established. The SDMB community generally appreciates its acerbic mods. ---

I wouldn’t fuck him, but I’d slip him sone tongue. As for **KGS** , well . . . I was an exploring kid once too. I had the idea at 16 that I could devise a scheme to unify physics and philosophy, building the basis of a moral and ethical system that relied on both spirituality and science without the trappings of religious myth. And I’d have jumped down the throat of _anyone_ who called that a stupid idea. It _was_ a stupid idea, of course. But I reckon I’ve got plenty of slack to cut **KGS**. It’s all part of a process.
