**Swampy** , there isn’t a recipe as such, usually it involves whatever happens to be in the fridge along with a mound of parsnips! This time it will be parsnips, carrots, onion, garlic, celery, vegetable stock (enough to cover the chopped veggies), hot curry powder, cumin, cayenne pepper and salt. The proportions of curry powder depend on your taste, I like mine with quite a kick so I put three teaspoons of curry powder in, with a teaspoon and a half of cumin, a teaspoon of cayenne and sometimes a bit of chilli powder too. Bring to a boil, cook for about 20mins until the veggies are tender, throw it in a food processor and blend to your chosen consistency. I like mine quite thick, so I don’t blend it too much. Then service with a swirl of sour cream or creme fraiche, if you feel like it. rosie, I don’t think NYC is in the plan for this year (I visited very briefly last Feb to see Van Halen!) so at the moment it’s looking like Paris in March, Hungary in April/May, Vancouver in June/July and possibly the Caribbean or maybe Vegas in September/October. I’m looking at the airline seat sales at the moment, I have some dates in mind and just need to fit it around my limited budget! Today has been productive, errands have been done, my hair is cut and all frou-frou’d by the lovely Phil, and I have done half an hour on the Wii to prevent a further descent into heiferdom this week. Tonight’s dinner will be Chinese curry and egg-fried rice (home-made, no takeaways for me!) and I expect there will be a movie afterwards. Tomorrow I’m off to see my doting parent to catch up with the gossip from the oldies, and see what exciting jobs she’s got lined up for me. Right now though, I have a hot date with my bath! ---

Well, that was a wasted five hours. By the numbers there are enough heads in beds today to justify having me, Blonde Afternoon, and Mr. Mississippi coming in for partial shifts. By the amount of work I did today, nuh-uh. I basically skimmed through [The Oatmeal](http://theoatmeal.com/) all day and checked four people out. :rolleyes: It wasn’t wasted skimming, though. I did find a comic I’m going to use in an upcoming Aunt Ryl post. Mr. Mississippi is now a fan. He read a link on Facebook and went back through the whole thing. Yay fans! 😃 ---

_My_ spicy parsnip soup involves roasting parsnips (and random other veg), along with spices, then blending with stock. I has quite a few homegrown parsnips this year, so I’ve been trying to find new ways to eat 'em. Anyway. Day 2 of bee course. We did bee beards today (really! Ok, so only as a passing mention, but still…) Was dozy again, as the newish neighbours seem to think that it doesn’t matter how much noise is made on firday night, as no-one’s getting up sattiday morning, right… right? So I didn’t get much sleep, and got woken in the middle of a dream of a disclaimer that my dream was ‘for entertainment purposes only’. It had text and a voiceover reading it out. I don’t even watch many films, so I really don’t get where that one came from… I’ve had a few weirder starts to a day, but not many. The chinese takeaway is makin’ dindin, concussed housemate has not collapsed, morning can be safely ignored tomorrow, life is good. ---

Well gee **MOOOOOOM** does that mean FCD will have to park his Hawg in the bedroom then? 😛 So, dressin’ is made, green beans are cooked, squish casserole is made. Oh and cake is made. Also the satanic ova but I already discussed that. So all that’s left is to roast the turkey, make the gravy and cook rolls. Mr. turkey will slow roast in the biiiiiiiiiiig roaster oven whilst sleep occurs. Then it can be sliced tomorrow mornin’ and re-heated just before time to eat. OOOOH! The requisite Bloody Mary mix has been made. I’s gettin’ hongry. Guess it’s time to consider dindin. ---

I went to look for an e-book on the library’s site and the first recommendation for the day was the above. Seriously. Have painted the stairwell to the basement. It’s quite dark now. The rest will be quite light, so I’m hoping it will be OK. If not…there’s always ore paint. Am sleepy. Time for a nap, I think. Hugs all. GT ---

We went to the not-so-bad Chinese place for an early supper followed by a quick stop at the likker store. \*\*FCD \*\*just finished doing the aquarium water change and I put the last coat of paint on the last piece of trim, then fed the puppeh and loaded the dishwasher. So all we have ahead of us is an evening of sloth. Oh, and it’s snowing. rah. ---

I have a broken heart. Literally. I have a heart problem. The doctor said it wasn’t life-threatening or dangerous. But he said that during time periods where the problem was worse, to cut down on caffeine and chocolate. Cut down on caffeine and chocolate? But I’m addicted! 😮 ---
