Having played it a few times, I think they need a bunch more cities to really become addicting!

I had a round with no Caribbean islands or African nations today, and hit 9997!
I wonder if any USAns have gotten US cities. In the roughly 30 rounds I’ve played, I’ve only been given one US city, which seems rather improbable if the choice is random.

The one thing that trips me up is the South Pacific Islands…I can be thousands of kilometers off and still hit the next closest landmass.

My only complaint is I wish the map was larger. It is based on speed and distance. You have to score enough points to move on to the next round. I think there are 10 rounds total. There’s also different Challenges (maps) to choose from.

High score for me 11233. Usually 9K plus now that I’ve begun to memorize some of the obscure ones that crop up a lot.

I’ve played a fair amount now, and have seen Chicago, NYC, and Washington D.C. fairly often, and Los Angeles several times. No other US cities. Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver in Canada.

Has anybody tried [Geoguessr](https://geoguessr.com/)? They plop you down in an anonymous spot on the globe and you have to figure out where you are. In most cases, you can move around to try to find road signs or other indicators of where you might be, but in some cases you’re just stuck with where you are which makes it pretty difficult to figure out.

Yeah, I’ve wasted tons of time on Geoguessr, so Quizzity was naturally appealing to me. They’re different sorts of challenges – with Geoguessr, the terrain, plant life, style of construction of roads, design and language (not to mention content) of signs, etc. all give you clues, and after playing a while you get to know that Brazil, Australia, western Canada, Russia and the Baltics show up a lot. And there’s no penalty for taking forever, so if you’re inclined to cheat by hitting Google in another window and searching for text strings from signs and such can get you pretty close. With Quizzity, you pretty much either know where a particular entity is or you don’t and have to guess. But the same places come up A LOT, so once you’ve played a bit you begin to learn where those are. I do wish you could zoom in closer in Quizzity – I know I could improve my average distance by getting in closer before clicking.
