Plenty of colorful language abounds in the pit, but not all use it as direct insults to fellow users. But you’ve noted how “deserving” I was. DAMMIT - one more thing - Cranky…I want to clarify something to you as well, and to apologize if you thought it was directed to you. I DID quote you in my original post where I was pissed off…but I didn’t intend the entire post to be directed toward you. I was more or less commenting on the quote. (Which is why I didn’t at first name you as the quoter.) But the second paragraph of my first post, wherein I “go off” - lol" and was saying “fuck you for caring”, “fuck off dumbshit” or whatever, was meant “you” universal (SDMB poster) not YOU Cranky! OY! I just got that! :rolleyes: No wonder… What a mess. See why I don’t post in the Pit or regularly. Misunderstandings abound. 🙂 ---

“Here’s what I’m missing. You fill your posts with swearing and vitriol, you call me sanctimonious and then you end with Namaste.” Fill my posts with swearing? I use 3 or 4 swear words in a two paragraph post and it’s “filled” with swearing. C’mon. And vitriol - that’s overstating a bit, IMHO. Calls for intent. Again, don’t assume my intent. Also, I didn’t call you sanctimonious…in fact I asked if you were trying to come off as sanctimonious, because I didn’t want to assume. “It makes no fucking sense. I don’t tear someone a new asshole and then say “God be with you”.” Not everything has to make sense, I’m afraid. But I do not believe I came close to tearing anyone a new asshole, and if I would have tried, it may have been a bit pathetic. I’m not a great pitter (or debater for that matter). And I wouldn’t end an “asshole tearing” with “God be with you” either. I don’t view “namaste” and what it holds in meaning for me to be on par with a “God be with you”. That’s just my perspective. Yours may very well differ. And if so, it’s all good. We agree to disagree. “Just throwing a smilie and a platitude at the end of each of your posts doesn’t make you some divine peacemaker.” As if I was trying to be a divine peacemaker. Again, your assumptions are flying around like crazy! What, someone can’t have their moments of “pissed off-edness” (lol!) and then let it all out and say “namaste” to someone. To show maybe that it’s not all as huge a deal as you’re making it out to be. You need to lighten up a little - - even if it is the Pit. “And Cranky’s my friend…I’m sure she didn’t mind me clarifying her sex to you.” I wouldn’t want to assume. 😉 ---
