I completely understand the seriousness of the problem that cropped up over the weekend, and the SDMB and Reader staff’s desire not to have ongoing discussion of what happened. And it’s not my intent to try to “squeak around” the request for time. However, I would like to ask one question tangentially related to the problem, though, which I think is weighing on the minds of a number of us (which is why I’m asking in ATMB instead of by e-mail). That question is this: **To the best of SDMB staff’s knowledge, is there any serious danger that the SDMB itself might be closed down owing to the potential legal problems that came up?** A simple yes or no will suffice; any expansion on that answer that you feel at liberty to give would be appreciated but I think most all of us undertand why you might not be willing or able to. Thanks for hearing and answering this. Feel free to lock it when answered. ---

They asked for time to deal with the problem, and we need to give it to them. Facts and such can wait until they’ve gotten things in place. The **only** reason I took it on myself to ask this is that I saw a **lot** of concern about what the future of the board might be, given the problems that occurred – and that’s something on which the Admins. **may** have knowledge of the Reader’s intentions that they can share, giving us reassurance (or not). If nobody but an Admin. posts to this thread after this post, it’d make me happy. Because I **don’t** want to push them when they’ve asked for time, beyond the simple yes-or-no question that they may be able to answer, that would at least give us an idea of what to expect. ---

Basically, it was just some wierd semi-lucid ethereal type dream which didn’t make any sense. At least for me anyway. Something about a mod making an executive decision regarding a sensitive subject that may or may-not have had teeth. And then some of the teeth feel onto the floor. So, I guess there were _some_ teeth, but possibly not many, or not. That clear it up? **Poly** , I hope this whole thing can be brushed aside. An ugly matter it is. ---
