I am, therefore, telling you based on a lot of personal experience that your posts (like the one quoted above) are typical of a middle school class clown with delusions of intellectual superiority. Good, I’m sure they’ll do fine. I’d be more concerned about the students that sound like _you_. They’re more likely to lead lives of quiet desperation, with the occasional loud outburst of frustration. And my posting history is ~55000 pinpoints of beautiful starlight, Pup, arranged in constellations of sublime charm. ---

But that’s ok, we make fun of it too. If you can’t laugh at your own culture, either your culture or yourself has a serious big problem. Heck, I have several books of graphic jokes about the RCC written and drawn by a priest, and I’ve seen quite a few of his jokes photocopied onto church handouts. I’m offended (in an intellectual way) when people make jokes of stuff they really, really, really don’t get, something which is more likely to happen when those people are external to the group they’re joking about, but so long as the joke makes sense, laugh away.
