Generally when I click on a link in a thread, a new browser window or tab is opened. When I click on an ad, it goes straight there. Can this behaviour please be changed to the SDMB default oa a new window / tab? ---

I think that’s something you can handle in your own browser settings. We have no control over how Google ads display when you click on them, sorry. TubaDiva ---

Right-click on the ad, and choose “Open link in new window”. ---

Since Google writes the code for their ads, not the SDMB, I think your misplacing your request. ---

[Google AdSense Program Policies](https://www.google.com/adsense/policies) Upon investigation, turns out lorinada is correct, and I thank you for correcting my error. Google insists that when you click you not get sent to a new page, please see under “Ad Placement:” **Clicks on Google ads must not result in a new browser window being launched.** It is possible you may be able to adjust your individual browser settings otherwise, but we can’t do that for you here. Thanks anyway. It’s a right pain: for some few sites - like the SDMB - I like it but for 90%+, I don’t.
