# Ads?

Why am I getting ads? Is anybody else who is a paid member getting ads, or am I behind on my payment?

I see the word “Guest” under your name. Looks like either you let your membership lapse, or there’s a glitch somewhere.

i didn’t receive a bill, but I’m letting it ride until it gets annoying. It’s interesting seeing what life is like for the hoi polloi. Anyway, Ed stripped me of my honorifics (SDSAB, charter member) after a near banning.

I’m not seeing ads but I am also not seeing the grey lines between posts; they are still there but they are white. Or the closest grey there is to white, anyway.

I use Straight Dope v3.7.3 not Sultantheme’s.

I never recieved a bill either. I really did expect one tho. I started seeing ads and knew I was due.  
Some nice Doper bought my first membership for me.

I switched tablets and the ads are gone. They’ll be along shortly, I’m sure.

I watch too much OTA TV for shut-ins so the first ad I see for Consumer Cellular, any Medicare add-in, or Alex Trebek shilling life insurance and I’m grabbing my debit card. No, lady, funerals aren’t potlatches and your survivors will like you better if you don’t spend over $8000 getting yourself planted.
