This sounds like a really stupid argument, mainly because if the argument is “cartoons/animation=for kids” then that basically means you can’t draw and publish anything but the most wholesome above board fare. That’s partly why I’m posting this…but also to point out that the comic book artist in question has the first name Jesus. You’d think that would go over well in the Bible Belt, no?

Ok, so we (Americans) live in a country where the High Court rules that “virtual kiddy porn” is legal, but a Not So High Court rules that adult porn in “virtual” comic form is illegal? (At least, I assume that’s the case…) And we wonder why other countries call us insane…
Oh yeah, Canada. LOL, what fucked up obscenity laws you have. I’ve heard that “boot licking” (in a sexual sense) is verboten in print. And didn’t their child pornography laws get so fucked up and restrictive, that a British Columbia judge had to rule ALL kiddy porn laws unconstitutional, at least until they got reviewed? Sorry, I don’t have any cites…
IIRC, that argument that snuffed the case that got kid-porn laws reviewed was actually about the difference in AoC and minimum age for nuddie pics to be considered child porn. (14 for sex, 18 for depictions thereof.)
The CBLDF should start a petition to have this law overturned.
That is an insult to third word nations.
