A couple of points. Firstly, never meet any Internet friend offline. That’s begging for a stalker. Secondly, never hook up for sex with just anyone. That’s begging for AIDS. Thirdly, if even one of those ads is authentic, I’m Mahatma Ghandi’s wardrobe consultant. Lastly, this is Just Another Porn Site. Forget it and move on. ---

Gee, thanks for the advice, Betty Crocker. Let’s take your salient points one at a time, shall we? I’ll give them more respect than they seemingly deserve. 1. “Never meet any Internet friend offline.” This makes logical sense only if _every single person who met an Internet friend offline was subsequently stalked._ Is this true? Can’t be, because i’ve met plenty and have never been stalked. 2. “Never hook up for sex with just anyone.” This makes logical sense only if _every time people had sex while not in a long-term relationship, they contracted AIDS._ Can this be true? I’m going to go out on a limb and say that the probability of contracting AIDS is not 100%, that various other factors must come into play (lack of protection, one partner already having the disease, etc.) 3. “If even one of those ads is authentic, I’m Mahatma Ghandi’s wardrobe consultant.” How was Gandhi, anyway? Did you pick out all of his threads? On what basis do you make this broad statement? Have you verified that _every single one of the ads is fake_? 4. “This is Just Another Porn Site.” I can only guess that you’ve never even visited the site. If this is true, you’re a clueless dolt to make such sweeping pronouncements. If you _have_ visited the site and still make this claim, I can only guess that you simply made your assumption as soon as you saw Nakit Picktures of Purty Wimmen and ignored the fact that it’s a large site that caters to swingers. See, I don’t know if you’re a porn scholar (it seems not), but most porn sites don’t cater to swingers. They cater to horny single males. ---

I’ve met a bunch of people over the years on-line (not for sex or dating) from all over the world. People who I would be completly comfortable taking my wife and kids to visit for an overnight stay or something. People are people. There’s no more chance of meeting a psychopath on-line than there is of meeting one, say at the corner bar or church. In fact, I’d say that the person you meet at a bar or church would be more likely to be a psycho than someone you meet on line. Of course, this all depends on where you’re meeting these friends. If you meet someone on, say, a goat felching forum, then, yeah, they might be a bit unsavory. But then, you’d have to ask yorself what you’re doing meeting people in a goat felching forum in the first place :eek: ---
