Adults and PC Games

Ack… I shouldn’t have stated that as fact. I meant to say “Development will probably start …”

Wow, more CivII fans than I might have suspected here. I bought Test of Time (actually, I traded Dungeon Keeper 2, which I couldn’t get to work on my computer, for it) recently and have been working on the Midgard scenario off and on.

I didn’t see Roller Coaster Tycoon mentioned; that’s what I’ve been spending my free time on lately. It’s sort of an expanded version of the old Theme Park game.

My favorite series was and still is the Zork series.
My current favorite game is Dungeon Keeper 2. I play for five or more hours if I start it up.

You build your dungeons, attract minions, fight off the hero’s. The normal view is above the dungeon, but you can posses minions and walk the dungeon and fight in Doom style.

This game is very versital. Did I mention the Mistress’s that work the torture room.

It’s by bullfrog so it has that wacky humor I’ve only found in British software. I like The Kingdom O Magic too.(British)

Theme Park World (sequel to Theme Park) should be out in the coming weeks. But I do agree, RollerCoaster Tycoon rocks and will be a gem of a game (replayability is enormous on it)

I am fervently awaiting the Sims. This one sounds like a very cool cool game. And those gtamers with absolutely no lives can live vicariously through their little sim counterparts. Should be a bestseller

Well, perhaps some of you can help me.

You see, while most of you sound content with your game addiction, my relationship is about to be destroyed by it. Not mine, my fiance’s. I can’t stand it. Because of our situation, he is free to stay up until 7am playing, play 12 hours a day (he does almost always 7or more daily, usually around 9) and essentially ignore everything else in life until he “feels like it”.

He’s addicted, in my opinion. I don’t say that facetiously. I think it is running his life and ruining mine.

So…do any of you have any brilliant suggestions as to how I might get him to throttle back and get a life?

Anyone who is up for Internet games can email me with what games you have. I’ll then create a list and email the list to everyone who mailed me. Then if we want to play games we can send out an email telling everyone else about it.

Oh yeah, CARMAGEDDON !!!

What’s the deal with the Splat Pack though ? I have a strong feeling I want that too !

Sealemon, you like Rush, you like Carmageddon… if only you were a chick ! Oh well… how’s your cooking ?

I’m not a big game user, but my favourite tyoes are adventures. They’re not as popular as they were ten years ago, unfortunately. But they’re trying to integrate Adventure elements into the 3D first-person games.

Hence my love of Tomb Raider! It suits me fine - not too much shooting, but enough to make it fun. Lots of exploration and puzzle solving. Excellent!

I do play a couple of other games - Duke Nukem, Rally Challenge, but nothing really tickles my fancy just now. I await the next Monkey Island game, whenever that may be…

My machine isn’t powerful enough to play the latest games anyway. I need to upgrade, but I can’t afford it…

I play FreeCell more often than anything else, anyway.

HeadlessCow, you’ve got a great idea there.
My games list is on its way.

Nethack.

(What, you don’t play Nethack? You worthless fool!)

Well Stoid I would tell him about your feelings. I mean though I like to play games, I do take time off for her feelings. If the guy is nice, then he should realize it. If he is a ass, then he will complain.

Stoid, didn’t your mama ever tell you not to try and change a man? I mean, this is not going to get better. It’s the way some people are, and you just gotta decide if you can live with it, and if you can’t, move on. My man is more or les glued to one screen or another all day (I prefer PSX phases–leaves the computer free for me), and I’ve learned to shrug and at least be happy I know where he is. There are worse vices.

Probably. It’s the add-on CD that includes:

6 new tracks:including an Indy style racing track with pedestrians in the bleachers to run over; a castle with monks; a multilevel frozen wasteland; and Hell, featuring a giant devil playing a certain video game…

about 6 or so new vehicles: including a knockoff of the muscle car from Interstate '76; a killer ambulance; and an eighteen wheeler cab!

I’ve had boat loads of fun with it. I haven’t gotten C2 yet because of the money thang, but it looks really sweet.

stoidela: A recent essay from www.pcgamer.com was written by an Everquest fanatic who was a newlywed. The best tip he offered for addicts was that you should wait at least one hour after sex before you leap out of bed and fire up the PC.

You say “cheesy” like that’s a BAD thing.

Quake 2 is my addiction. I spend approx. 15 - 20 hours a week on the internet playing deathmatches. I am completely addicted.

Along these lines, I love PC casino games. Does anyone here know of some Casino games that have REAL slot machines in them (I mean, actual slots that you would find in the casino, not “made up” ones with a few cherries and fruits on it)
I appreciate any titles anyone has for this. I currently use “Golden Nugget” which has “Double Diamond” slots on it. I love it!
