Lenin, 40+ years before Ike and without the benefit of Ike’s hindsight on (and singular involvement in) WWII along with the obvious results of that war in turning our large domestic producers into weapons manufacturers, he nails the root of Ike’s Military-Industrial Complex. Yes, the horror that nations should cooperate with foreign nations and form binding commercial ties. That might encourage peace. Much better than that is to operate on your own and eschew all possibilities of commerce arising on its own. Instead, one must control all commercial endeavors centrally and slay everyone who is too lazy to work or who holds opposing ideas, and to encourage and finance other nations to do the same. Mass murder over Peace and Commerce! Viva la Revolution my brothers! ---

Jeeez. Please no more about Leninism. I’m not a Leninist and I’m not into armed revolution or killing millions of indigenous folks in the process. That’s today’s corporate policy, if you haven’t noticed, not to mention our own thru the years. I am saying that his analysis of global corporate capitalism/imperialism is spot on. You find something specific in my cite you’d like to dispute, let me know. Otherwise, check it at the door. ---

This is why the standard of living has been going down all around the world. We live shorter lives than before and have less creature comforts. Meanwhile the number of people killed in international war is at an all time high. Unlike Lenin’s time the borders of countries are changing constantly. It’s a real mess I tell you. ---
