My cousin brought me a copy of some of the pictures he took on our trip to Africa in February and I thought I’d share them here if anyone wants to see them. He got some really great shots. Wow, he must have had a great camera. I went on a safari last year and couldn’t get closeups anything like that with my phone. ---

We actually were very lucky and most of the animals we saw were close enough to touch the vehicle, including lions, cheetahs and elephants. ---

You want cats? Here you go! The first two are a pride of 15 lions eating a Cape Buffalo and the other is a momma cheetah watching her 3 cubs eating a Thompson’s Gazelle. I have a work friend who did a photo safari last year. [He rented this lens to shoot on the trip](https://www.amazon.com/Canon-800mm-Telephoto-Digital-Cameras/dp/B00132FXOW). [Here’s what it looks like in use](https://www.petagadget.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/1401420885105052939_acae86bbb823.jpg). You really need great equipment to get great images of the wildlife (because walking up to a lion is not going to go well). You may get lucky with lesser equipment, but there’s little substitute for the good stuff. ---
