The fact that “nappy” is derogatory _is the problem_ – we shouldn’t be using derogatory words that denigrate the natural features of a huge group of people. “Nappy” denigrates natural black hair (and probably some small number of non-black people’s hair, but it’s mostly about afro-textured hair). Just like “darkie” denigrates dark skin, “nappy” denigrates black hair. It’s not the end of the world, but I don’t think we should use terms with such an ugly history. ---

No, there’s genuinely something wrong with **MrDribble**. There has been, quite literally, not a single instance of racism in this thread. No-one has said someone should be treated differently because of race.
