Yay, It’s been almost one year to the day since I last had a real steady job. After being unemployed all winter I finally got a couple temp gigs this spring and summer. And now, after a total loss of self esteem and quite a bit of self doubt and paranoia, my boss finally sent me to a pee test today. And it’s for one of the best companies in the area. I just lucked into the opportunity. I drove in February to an agency in Madison during a snow storm. If I hadn’t taken that drive, all of this never would have fallen into my lap. Just tooting my own horn a little. 5 years in an absolutely shitty job then another year of just floating, finally I feel like I’m back. Tremendous thanks to my wife for staying (mostly) positive and donating me cash when I needed it. I couldn’t have done it alone. Can’t wait to wake up in the morning. I’m sure it will wear off after a while, but for now, Yay. ---

Congratulations, and good luck back in the working world. You must be so relieved! Long ago I got my favorite job ever when, 6 months after I submitted my application, the company finally got around to interviewing me during a snowstorm. When I hobbled into the conference room on crutches with 3 inches of snow on my head, I guess they figured they could count on me to show up for work no matter what :D. Now take your wife out for a celebration dinner. Sounds like both of you deserve it. ---

They start paying me Monday. They even gave me a little more than I asked for. Yes, I am already figuring out fun things to do with my wife, after a year of austerity measures, let the fun begin. ---
