What sort of hair grows back after someone has been waxing for a long period of time and then stops? Is it thicker? Lighter? Coarser? Just the same?

I’m mostly interested in chest/back hair, but I’d be interested in hearing about all different situations.

Generally thinner, due to the damage done to the hair follicles by the waxing. [cite.](http://www.emedicine.com/derm/topic503.htm)

What about when only plucking has been involved? Same answer?

Plucking is pretty permanent as well. I once had a sort of mono-brow look and plucked it. Less and less came back and I haven’t had hair above my nose for decades now.
