And since I’ve seen only one FarmersOnly commercial that included a person of color, I’m wondering if there’s a more subtle message being sent about that dating site too. :dubious:

I find the commercial where the rec room gradually turns white as the two guys talk about Progressive Insurance to be a little creepy. Yes, buy our insurance and we’ll transform your entire house in our colors! And the guy who is a little taken aback by the sudden whiteness just happens to be black. Eww.

Apparently, we’re supposed to be impressed by the fact that the active ingredient is “a chemical found in jellyfish” (notwithstanding the fact that jellyfish don’t have any brains).

That one bugs me, too. I keep replacing that with something else to see if people would be so nearly impressed.

“originally found in mice”; “originally found in elephants”; “originally found in _e coli_”. Somehow, I don’t think they’d be using those. Why do they think people will be impressed by jellyfish?

Who on Earth is that Left Twix/Right Twix campaign supposed to be targeting? Is there a demographic out there that’s saying “Man, this whole left/right Twix schism is really amusing and/or appealing to me”? I mean, maybe one ad using that “joke”, sure but they just keep beating it into the ground with a mallet. “Oh ho! We’ll have two ‘left’ Twix in a pack!” – Shut up, Twix people.

Thought I’d revive this thread to bitch about the pooping commercials. The guy beating on his ass with a tambourine for Pepto. I don’t want to “enjoy the go”, and I will go out of my way to avoid the town of Kiester, MN. The latest one is way over the top. It’s an ad for air freshener. A bunch of morons are gathered to watch the Superbowl and eating bowls of greasy food. The large black man suddenly pops a sweat and heads for the bathroom. Good thing you’ve got Glade, by golly. Fucking idiotic and downright offensive.

They say they look in your DNA from the stool sample. Why not just send a saliva sample?

Any Verizon commercial with [this guy](https://www.ispot.tv/ad/wrZq/verizon-google-pixel-2-50-percent-off-feat-thomas-middleditch). God, he’s an ass. And they love playing them during football.

I didn’t know who he was, or that he is even “somebody”. I just searched for “Verizon dork ass commercials”, and there he was!

Don’t blame us - we’re not the ones who did it to women. And they stopped because they were offensive; moving on to a new target doesn’t make them less offensive.

I’m sure it reasonably reflects the opinion of a lot of Bud Light drinkers… that people who drink craft beers are pretentious and like to overpay. But I don’t see how it attracts new customers. I am not giving up flavorful beers for Bud Light. I guess it’s really the same as other light beers, just about name recognition and brand awareness. But the commercial is annoying with the “dilly dilly”.

Not so much a new catchphrase [as an old one](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavender%27s_Blue).

The ones that get me are the ones where potential side effects include **the symptoms the medication is supposed to treat**. Try this heart disease medication! Warning: may cause heart disease!

Granted, but they say they work off the DNA. Why wouldn’t the DNA in the colon be the same as what’s in the saliva?

Oh god, that stupid Dily Dilly. It is so obviously a manufactured phrase, designed not to help the product (such as I can’t believe I ate the whole thing! Or Where’s the Beef?) but just to be picked up and repeated by the youngsters. And what really sucks is I see people on the Social media using it unironically.

I’ll say one thing about Bud Light. I’m not much of a beer drinker, but when I do, I prefer Wisconsin beers. But I took the full behind the scenes tour at the Ft Collins brewery, and they tapped me a glass right out of the tanks just before it gets bottled, and boy did that taste nice. Smooth. If it tasted like that all the time, I could see drinking it. But, of course, it doesn’t.

There is a new commercial for an app where you lean your tablet or cell phone against a wall (or a rock or something) and twirl around with your arms in the air in front of the camera. This is supposed to make measurements of your body 20 percent [DEL]cooler[/DEL] more accurate than a tailor. You then send off the data from that app to have custom shirts made for a hundred bucks each.

Here’s Burl Ives singing _Lavender’s Blue_, which is where Dilly Dilly came from, IMHO.

Or the ones that caution against taking the medication if you’re allergic to the specific medication. I can certainly understand warnings about medicines in the same family causing similar reactions, but the wording of these commercials – “Don’t take Newmedtab if you’re allergic to Newmedtab” – is really odd.
