There’s a political ad in Illinois (ex-Democrat mayor of Aurora running as Republican for governor) that starts with a siren and someone yelling GET DOWN! GET DOWN! He’s emphasizing his military service but also tying the idea of an actual warzone to Illinois being a warzone of crime. 🙄 I change the channel or press mute as soon as I hear that damned air-raid siren. ---

There’s a Buick ad where the mom and all the kids are piling into the SUV to go to school. One girl asks “Mom, is this your new Buick?” As if, someone told her that mom got a new Buick, but she hadn’t actually seen it until it was time to go to school. Sure, whatever. And then all the adults freaking out at school because a lizard got loose. 🙄 ---

Good observation - I hadn’t noticed that plot hole before. I know Buick has been desperately working to shed it’s image as an old fuddy-duddy car, which explains why they keep showing young families and urban hipsters in their commercials, and in each one rolling thru each and every techno-feature of the interior (never mentioning performance stats), while continuing to say the word “Buick” instead of “car”. ---

I’ve been seeing a bunch of ads for Birddogs pants. They are all awful. With a lot of awful commercials, I don’t even remember the product, but these are so terrible that I made a point of remembering the product so I’m never even tempted to buy them. The first one had a bunch of guys throw a cake in their friend’s face and he gets taken away on a stretcher in a neck brace. They haven’t gotten any better since. ---
