Gawd I hate this fucking MWII commercial. It’s full of douchy people who think playing a video game makes you a bad ass It’s loud and since it’s base on “sound off” it’s doubly annoying It’s a minute and a half! The Qatar tourism commercials with the “adorable” little fuzzy World Cup mascots bring just one thing to my mind - [the horrific human rights abuses](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_FIFA_World_Cup_controversies) heaped on the poor migrant workers Qatar brought in to build the stadiums and infrastructure, which cost more than a few workers their lives. And while I like Jon Hamm and Ellie Kemper as a dashing Mr. and Mrs. Claus, I can’t like Fox Sports using them to promote their coverage of the Qatar World Cup. I mean, the reason the World Cup is being held over the winter holidays is because it’s too damn hot in Qatar to play soccer in the summer, and it must have taken some massive Middle Eastern oil bribe money to FIFA to have the event held there in the first place. ---

As a side-note, I am so out-of-it, I had no idea Jon Hamm is a real actor, and not just some made-up personality for the Flo commercials. But I agree with @Uncle_Jocko the Qatar commercials and the “Gerry the Canada Goose” Emirates Airlines commercials seem to be glossing-over some extensive cultural gaps for Americans. ---

I’ve been pondering the two Jake from State Farm commercials they’re bombarding us with lately. Which is worse? These always make me sad because the original Jake from State Farm commercial was just perfect. ---

Hamm was the star of _Mad Men_. He’s been called “Sexiest Man Alive” a few times. To the extent that there is a joke in those commercials, that’s it. He’s a famous sex symbol, but Flo remembers him only as some guy she once sold insurance to. ---

Two commercials getting me all het up recently. One is a car commercial that plays just a snipped of the chorus of a song I really like. This commercial comes on 3 or 4 times a show, sometimes twice in a row and now I kinda hate Fleetwood Mac’s Everywhere. And for what? I don’t even remember what car the commercial is advertising. And then there’s the KFC commercial where son and grandson are scarfing down KFC in front of grandma and then have the nerve to ask her if she’s all right. NO, she’s not! Why didn’t you get her any chicken? I would not blame abuelita for going postal on their asses.
