Just caught some creepy AF mattress commercial on the Science Channel featuring talking adult heads stuck on baby bodies. It was so disturbing that I can’t even remember the name of the mattress company so I can avoid them for future mattress purchases. ---

“I laid on the couch…for months… in PAYHHHNNNN” For some back surgery office. The lady who was fixed up fast by said surgery office has just a drawn out, dramatic line. Drives me nuts. Of course, my daughter, knowing it makes me stabby tries to work it into as many conversations as possible. ---

Liberty Mutual has a couple of radio commercials in heavy rotation right now where people are shouting “LIBERTY MUTUAL SAVED ME SEVEN HUNDRED EIGHTY TWO DOLLARS!” and then the other person pretends they couldn’t hear them and goes “WHAAT?” and the first one repeats “LIBERTY MUTUAL SAVED ME SEVEN HUNDRED EIGHTY TWO DOLLARS!” then the announcer starts to tell how to contact them and the “hard of hearing” person interrupts them and screeches “WHAAAT??” again. Annoying as hell. ---

ive been waiting for this thread to pop up again just to bitch about the latest e-surance ad … The one with the mom who had a somewhat seriously dinged up front end on the driver side Who hugs the van and screams no or why for what seems like 2 days until she gets the e-surance check … -people need to have sharp pointy things stabbing their tender bits for that one ---

Volvo has a series of commercials with a guy and his astronuat wife. For some reason I find the guy somewhat off-putting, but that’s not what’s annoying. The one where he’s talking to her on the phone and the one where she’s in the passenger seat and says, “It’s good to be back” are fine. But there’s another, in which he’s driving his Volvo and glancing up at the sky, while she floats around up in the space station. There’s some atmospheric music playing (turns out it’s [“Harlem River” by Kevin Morby](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kk7t4LhKCw4)) that helps set the mood, and an announcer talks about embracing the future. So far, so good. But then, in an odd editing choice, they mix in the song’s lyrics very heavily, so we suddenly hear Morby blurt out “Allbecauseofyooooou…” with really weird phrasing and pronunciation. While the music fits the feel of the commercial, the singing very much does not. It grates on me every time. ---
