Lexus is running one now with a couple of kids letting out from school. The boy maunders about the girl being from a “plug” (EV) family while he is from a “non-plug” family, and ends his speech with somesuch that the two families will be “joined in MARRIAGE!” (yes, there is emphasis on that word) as he is looking at the girl, before she smiles at him (either in fright or pity) and is whisked away (by presumably concerned parents). I must be missing something, because I find this commercial disturbing, cringy, and weird. What am I missing? ---

This one has surely already been mentioned, but it annoyed me anew today: The Colonial Penn insurance ad with the husband and wife talking while she bakes cookies. He has a cookie in his hand. He nearly takes a bite about 3 times as they talk, but never completes the chomp. BITE THE BLOODY COOKIE, DAMMIT!! ---

This [Liberty Mutual commercial](https://www.ispot.tv/ad/6Jac/liberty-mutual-stilts) featuring a guy on stilts is annoying because at the end his wife/girlfriend comes along and they attempt to hold hands as they walk away, she on tiptoes reaching up and him reaching down. Why exactly do they need to hold hands given how much of a struggle it is? ---

One of the series of ‘homes-dot-com’ commercials with Dan Levy and Heidi Gardner, the one with the helicopter, doesn’t exactly annoy me, but amuses me as to how dumb it is. It starts with Heidi suddenly sitting down across from a guy with a chessboard in a park and starts firing questions at him. “How long have you lived here? How are the local restaurants- good, bad, meh?” The guy only has time to say “you gonna move?” before a helicopter appears with Dan Levy saying over loudspeaker “come on- we gotta go…we have 17,000 more parks to visit!”. Heidi has gotten exactly zero info about the current place. It ends with Levy saying “we bring you the _ **best** _ neighborhood info”. Yeah right, judging by the slapdash example of neighborhood ‘research’ you just displayed, I get real confident vibes, surrrre… ---

LOL, yes, that’s the same ad I’m talking about! I don’t notice the weird pouty thing she does with her mouth, but watching someone almost bite a cookie when it’s within an inch of his mouth makes me stabby. I mean, come _on_. So many annoying commercials building up and destroying me from the inside! AT&T disgracing my electronica dance days by undoing EMF’s Unbelievable by turning it into ‘so believable’ and absolutely ruining the whole get-a-load-of-this-chick vibe of the song. Two promo ads that play frequently and non-stop on all of my old lady Discovery channels. One for the channels switch for Impractical Jokers. All I see are 3 guys who are way too fucking old for the schtick and look sad and desperate. The other is for Not Alone and Afraid Survivor Island Edition. Or whatever they are calling the Alone and Afraid competition show. It seems to be their signature bumper. A chap-lipped, insane man screaming, “I’m not going home!” but he has a very large, crusty ball of spit at the corner of his mouth. It’s so gross that now all I have to do is hear his voice, I don’t even have to look, to get the heaves. And Progressive’s turning into your parents campaign which started out funny, then became not so funny and now is a series of STOP LIKING WHAT I DON’T LIKE bullshit. There. I feel much better. ---

The Olympic google Gemini commercial makes me weep for the future of humanity. I can;t find a copy, but the plot is., some future olympian wants to write a fan letter to (someone famous), so the commercial recommends google’s AI wirte it. I mean, seriously! You can’t write your own fan letter? It’s not that hard! I guess the end result will be AI generated fan letters, AI generated responses. Maybe the kid can just let the AI read it, and she need not be bothered by any reality at all!
