I suspect Comcast lost it’s Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) when it ended last year. I don’t think it likely that it will be restarted under the current regime. Xfinity (Comcast) does have a [low-cost service](https://www.xfinity.com/learn/internet-service/acp), but how long are rural communities going to benefit from Xfinity’s largess?

I see her stupid ‘derp face’ everywhere. Why is she shilling popcorn and some kind of water, she can’t need the money. She’s worth over $300 million. I get a teeny kick out of the people asking for a taste of popcorn (or admiring it) and don’t know who she is. (which probably explains why she’s doing this stuff).

It came on finally. Home title protection. There are two commercials. I get the “in my car” one on TV here, but she’s even worse in the other one. I found the link in a Reddit post, and they were harder on her fake accent than I was.

I swear they flipped her part, because she’s sitting on the other side of the car when I see the commercial.

I notice this trend (both on TV and online ads) where someone is sitting in their car and talking. What is this style, some sort of “influencer” thing for Ticky-Tocky? Annoying. Yeah, yeah, get off my lawn.

They style seems as if it is copying something that…may never have existed? Why would anyone make a video in their car? It’s like they’re afraid their mommy will catch them.

Still, I see facebook accounts where the primary photo was taken in the owner’s car as a selfie. What, you couldn’t step outside?

I’m just glad the advertisers seem to have _finally_ gotten away from that stupid forward motion-reverse motion-forward motion-reverse motion gimick.

The problem I have is that she’s pretending to be a 20-something “influencer”… the last person someone would ask for advice on mortgages/titles.

And the last person that the demographic they’re targeting (Seniors paranoid about the title on their home) would take seriously.

I swear, I could spend 40 hrs a week just compiling clips of “Advertisers not understanding their audience”.

[And the geographical significance of the first three digits is no longer an issue as of 25 June 2011.](https://www.ssa.gov/employer/randomization.html) They’ve been randomized.

I used to work for SSA, and before I retired they had been talking about randomizing the number assignments. I remember getting a case where an immigrant family was assigned SSNs and while the first five numbers were all the same, the last four digits were random to avoid possible future confusion.

That was a plot point in an older cop show. A family of different ages all had sequential SSNs. It was a clue they had been given new IDs, possibly by witness relocation program.

There’s a series of Mazda commercials with a similar theme: a young woman visits a relative in her new Mazda suv. The relative always asks skeptically, “Mazda?” At this point the woman answers: “Mazda”, but always in a weird, apologetic way. Usually IRL, people are enthused about their new vehicles.

The middle numbers are the “group number” and are issued following a somewhat complex scheme that uses several odd numbers, then several even numbers, etc, in a specified order.
