Why would anyone think this is a good idea? Show a little toddler walk by herself thru a city with traffic, people, etc. Falling down while in a crosswalk in front of a bus. Incredibly scary looking. It’s just a little kid! No parent around watching let alone holding her hand. Egad. What sort of idiots would think this is a good idea. Oh, yeah. The perpetual winners for worst customer service. The people who don’t see things from other people’s point of view at all. Comcast (who thinks using a different sub-name changes things). ---

I don’t know about that commercial, but Comcast has been running [this one](https://www.ispot.tv/ad/oCjc/comcast-xfinity-you-must-be-steven-song-by-the-strollers), in which a teenage boy sneaks into his girlfriend’s front yard and climbs the trellis to her room. As he’s greeting her from the window, her father opens the door saying, “You must be Steven’s phone” as he shows that the boy’s phone just connected to their WiFi. It’s amusing. ---

We have a dog who objects to TV dogs as well, or anything ‘doglike’ in his little canine noggin, like bears. We were figuring it’s because the image on a 50" flatscreen is large enough for him to recognize. It’s not sound because he’s alerted to some with the sound muted. ---

We were watching the remake of _ **The Thing** _ one night in the dark on an old 14-inch set. Our little Havanese went crazy barking when she saw the Husky running against the snow in the opening sequence. ---

Not like this kind of content-free hyping hasn’t been done before, but there’s an ad for Apple’s most recent iPhone that consist of nothing more than various hipster types fiegning enthusiasm for whatever they are supposedly seeing on their displays, which they never describe and which we never get to see for ourselves. Well, there is the one woman who exclaims, “It’s got three cameras!” which causes grumpy old me to think, “Great, three chances to screw up a photo rather than just one”. ---

Okay, I finally broke down and looked to see who this apparently famous person is, from [the Old Navy jeans commercial](https://www.ispot.tv/ad/oG9f/old-navy-high-rise-slim-straight-jeans-reunion-featuring-busy-philipps). Busy Phillips? Never heard of her. But [this face](https://images.app.goo.gl/9tNstWZg2owNLVqs7) gives me violent urges. Y’know, it seems a lot of commercials do that… ---

I’ve said it before - I buy Apple products _despite_ their commercials, definitely not _because_ of them. Apple makes their products look like the choice of a new generation … of smug assholes. Makes Bud Light ad characters look like Miss Manners. ---

There’s a commercial (I can’t find it on line) where this twenty-something guy with too much free time and apparently no job brags about how he drives all over going surfing skiing biking etc in his new Mercedes crossover and it’s such a joy to drive and fits his lifestyle etc etc. No twenty-somethings should own a Mercedes! Is the target audience trust fund babies? ---
