Oh God! Three posts in a row. This is a sad, sad day for Aglarond.
Yeah, I’m a little disappointed with the quality lately. I think it’s that the show’s premise was 6 twenty-somethings trying to deal with life’s unknowns. Now they’ve put the characters through every mill they could find so the premise isn’t holding up. They’re all established, mature, moving on thirty-somethings, except for Joey, which is the one character I think still holds up.
I’ve said it before, I think they should bow out gracefully before it becomes unbearably hokey.
Yes, I did, and I’m telling you, those bastards at channel 44 are reading my mind. Either that or they’re lurkers here and they’re basing their programming on our threads.
About the age thing - that threw me for a loop. Now I’ve got to start the formula all over again.
Let’s see. Now we know that Monica is a year older than Joey. If Joey is now 31, that makes Monica (and Rachel) 32. Chandler and Ross must then be 33 or 34. As always, Phoebe could be 137 for all we know.
Now I must go back and peruse the thread one more time to see if there any trivia challenges hanging out there. If not, I’m going to try my hand at creating one.

Otherwise, I’m stumped.
I bow to everyone’s superior knowledge of “Friends,” which I stopped watching around the time Ross and Emily were getting married (how does that guy get such great women?).
I have a question: Wasn’t Phoebe’s back story something like, she was depressed and “on the streets” (homeless) because her mother had killed herself (someone asks her in an early episode what she wants for Christmas and, in typical Phoebe fashion, answers literally about wanting her mother back)? Then, we find out that Phoebe’s mom is still alive (Teri Garr). So…why did Phoebe think her mom had killed herself?
I’ve always found Phoebe the most interesting character. I speculate that she’s holding all this darkness and pain behind this mask of earth-mother spaciness, like, she had to get into stuff like her awful guitar playing and whatever she does/did with aromatherapy, to keep from going mad.
Chandler is kinda the same way in that he’s hiding pain behind humor, but it’s not as deep and significant in his case.
I wish she could give be some biology lessons. Specifically I am interested in learning more about her anatomy, I mean, the female anatomy. 
I believe the woman that killed herself did raise Phoebe, she just wasn’t her mother. IIRC, she was actually a friend of her mother’s.

I more or less agree with you Jack. Last season was, IMHO, the worst of the bunch. Not that it was bad (no sitcom that has Jennifer Aniston on it can be labeled that), it just didn’t live to the high expectations one has come to associate with the show. Besides, even through the overall decrease in quality , it featured one of the best episodes ever, the one were Joey finds out about Monica and Chandler:
Joey: You? And you? How? When?
I am LOL as I write this.
Anyway, if this season’s initial shows are a good indicator, we are in for another fun-filled ride. Can’ t wait for tonight’s episode!
Finally, a commentary about the season opener, don’t you guys feel relieved that Jennifer Aniston didn’t pull out a Courtney Cox out of her bra and change her name to Jennifer Aniston Pitt? Now that would have really being the pits!
