Is this the time to mention that I’m from Louisiana? Forty days and forty nights? God was a piker! 😉  
For the first twenty-some-odd years of my life, I just assumed that “drenched” was the normal state of all things. Sure, I had seen nature shows about deserts, but since the one time I made the trip to Las Vegas it rained the whole week, I figured they were fictional. You know, “Scientists speculate that if any place were to go without heavy rainfall for more than three days (four, tops), it would look like this: \<cut to shot of Death Valley\>.”

When I came in from outside, I just made sure to sit on something that wouldn’t suffer from buttocks-shaped water rings. 🙂

It feels so strange to be living in the same city as another Doper - I got caught in the exact same downpour, but I was on foot, in my new pink American Eagle pants, carrying four bags of groceries to my new apartment on Sherbrooke St.
