I would disagree. No good can come from trying to show up a TSO. Some of them, like in any occupation, can be quite petty. Be polite, follow directions, get out of there, and post it on Twitter / Facebook / MySpace while you are sitting on the tarmac for your 4 hour delay.

You can be polite while still standing up for yourself and your rights. I fly very often and have never had an issue when I tell them I wish my shoes to remain in a bin. And all but a handfull are polite in return.
