I watched An Inconvenient Truth a few years back with a friend and thought Al was really sincere in regards to Global Warming. But, then I did some research in regards to his own life style and clearly he is the biggest fucking hypocrite that ever existed. I drive a cheap 40 mpg vehicle in order to conserve fuel, live in a efficient apartment, with the attempt to at least reduce my expenses and waste. But this joker does not even try. Regardless of the debate on Global Warming, it appears he does not believe in what he says. He claimed the ocean levels will rise but yet buys a coastal property with an astronomical footprint. Perhaps he needs all the bathrooms for the amount of bullshit he spews out. He needs to be tried for fraudulent claims he does not believe in and if convicted, sentence for lifed. But he bought carbon offsets. They’re the new indulgences… Seriously, though, your article doesn’t talk about whether or not the property is at sea level. It just says “ocean view”, which in CA often means it’s still pretty much above sea level. ---

Perhaps it does to his claim on ocean levels rising. Point being, if he does not mind destroying the earth then why should I care. He is the one peddling his bullshit and should be setting an example. Fuck it. From now on, I am going to do everything in my power to destroy the earth and maybe, I can reach his level. All plastics go in the ditches, garbage bags, ocean etc. I’ll dump all my motor oil down the sinks, gutters, into the ground etc. Of course, I’m only one person and my attempts woul be futile compared to a major corporation. I hope a few nuclear stations blow up and radiate the earth. Fuck it ---

Good grief. Look, Al Gore isn’t preaching a monastic lifestyle. He’s a wealthy man, he sees nothing wrong with living as such, and I doubt he’d say it’s wrong for others to do likewise. His position - whether you agree or disagree with it - isn’t that we need to stop driving, flying, or what have you, but that we need to develop and expand the use of technologies to do these things in more environmentally friendly ways. Switching to more use of solar, wind, hydro, and maybe nuclear (don’t know where he stands on that last) would make a real difference in our carbon footprint - one millionaire doesn’t really make a dent, no matter how lavishly he lives. ---

I don’t see any contradiction between the capitalist stance that those with more money should be able to purchase more stuff and the environmentalist stance that the people and the government should take steps to ensure that our products pollute as little as possible for what they are. ---

I guess there are two issues here: 1. Is climate change a real problem, and what do we do about it? 2. Is Al Gore, due to his lifestyle choices, a good spokesperson for said problem. The two don’t really have anything to do with each other. If you want to rag on Gore for being a hypocrite, fine. Bring the facts, and let us judge them. Linking to an article with just a few sentences about one of his real estate deals is pretty weak. ---

Considering that 20% own the majority of the wealth in this country 84%, and by extension, resouces, they also pollute the most then. So they want to take more from remaining 80% so they can continue to live lifestyles like that of Al Gore? Sorry, Al may only be one man, but so am I. I’ll choose to live how I please then and do everything in my power to point out the hypocracies to friends, neighbors, internet etc that we should do everything to fight against these cocksuckers ---

There would be a mass die off. 2. Well, would you want a 500 pound person advertising the miracles of eating salads to be thin while muncing down big macs 24/7? ---
