Well, “jackass” and “idiot” are, IMHO, not really nice things to be calling each other. And yes I realize that there are certain feelings about someone dying. For example, I used to be very much in favor of the death penalty. Now, I’m very much against it–in all cases. Trunk’s assertion that someone who’s glad, though, that someone who’s a mass murderer is out of action is just as bad as that mass murderer isn’t exactly a valid comparison; heck, it’s probably not even one of degree. One can be a 100% pacifist without the extreme hyperbole/extreme charges, I’d think. ---

I find it sad that Nick Berg’s father has such a hatred of George Bush that he can’t take even a little satisfaction in knowing the murderer of his son is dead. Oh, can I be a Sick Fuckette? I take great happiness in knowing there’s one less sadistic bastard in the world, and that the good guys are the ones that took him out. ---

I find it sad that Nick Berg’s father would be expected to take satisfaction from it. His child is dead. His child isn’t coming back. And George Bush will never be held accountable for the fuckups that led to so many deaths, whether Nick Berg’s specifically or not. What does his father have to be satisfied about? “Well, my son is dead, but at least someone else’s son is dead, too!” And the reason for all the deaths still exists and there isn’t anything that will change. ---

Yeah, I had the same reaction as **kaylasdad99** - didn’t go as far as trying to look up anything, but just drew a conclusion based on the “evidence” at hand, as it were. If I’m naive for taking the post at face value, at least it shows my tendency toward cynicism about people is being held in check by something. And my thanks to **Giraffe** for reaffirming that that sort of dickishness, even if “unintentional,” crosses a line that we don’t need crossed. ---
