I anxiously await the calm acceptance when a Governor utters in his inauguration speech: ‘Anybody here today who has accepted Jesus Christ as their savior, I’m telling you, you’re delusional, and I don’t want you to be delusional.’
That would be the governor of Fantasy Land, in case you were wondering.

Just to be clear, the Gov did not do this in his inaugural speech, he did it at a church following the inauguration as a private citizen and has every right to do so. But I also have every right to let out a loud fart at a wedding. Decorum and respect for others prevents me from doing so.

Agreed. I have to wonder, though, what the reaction would’ve been if he’d said a similar statement as a Muslim, in a mosque.

Or used some Mormon lingo, or that anyone not accepting the Pope was not his brother, or that non-Jews weren’t his brother.

It’s worth pressing him to explain what he meant (the statement from his office speaks to what he _didn’t_), but I’m not sure this is as much as some would make it. He may be unusually honest for a politician. Do any elected officials in secular countries believe that _all_ their constituents are their “brothers”?
