Would it actually have been dishonest of him to NOT divide his constituents into those he felt worthy and those less worthy? What part of Christianity requires that perspective? What lie would be be perpetuating by not saying what he’d said? ---

I was merely pointing out that the North is well supplied with loony politicos as well. It was not in his own church, it was in a church that MLK, Jr. started his career as a pastor. It was MLK day and the Governor had been sworn in earlier that day. It wasn’t some private event and he was representing the people of Alabama in attending. I guarantee you that if you strolled into the Governor’s church on a Sunday, you could tell that you weren’t in the [Dexter Avenue Baptist Church](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dexter_Avenue_Baptist_Church).
