It was a record. You put it on the turntable, and it revolved. Hence, “Revolver.” 🙂

Great titles (not necessarily great albums):

“Intensities in Ten Cities” - Ted Nugent
“Night in the Ruts” - Aerosmith (sue me- I like Spoonerisms)
“Bloody Tourists!” - 10cc
“Gimme Back My Bullets” - Lynyrd Skynyrd
“Is THIS What You Want?” - Jackie Lomax
“If I Wasn’t So Romantic, I’d Shoot You” - (I think) by Rick Derringer
“Don’t Shoot Me, I’m Only the Piano Player” - Elton John
Frank Zappa and Joe Walsh have much in common. Both brilliant guitarists who never made an album as clever as its title! Well… not quite true. “Got any Gum” was about as clever as its title, as was “Joe’s Garage.” But I loved the titles…

"You Bought It, You Name It (Walsh)
“The Smoker You Drink, the Player You Get” (Walsh)
“Weasels RIpped My Flesh” (Zappa)
“Burnt Weenie Sandwich” (Zappa)

Any album with “Greatest Hits” in the title is bound to be a winner. Some of the albums on my wish list:

Bizet Greatest Hits
Chopin Greatest Hits
Gregorian Chants Greatest Hits
Grieg Greatest Hits
Mendelssohn Greatest Hits
Prokofiev Greatest Hits
Sibelius Greatest Hits
Wagner Greatest Hits
Barney’s Greatest Hits

**It Crawled Into My Hand, Honest** by the Fugs
**Attempted Moustache** by Loudon Wainwright III
**Must’ve Been High** by the Supersuckers

Also SOMEONE (I can’t remember who) had an album called “\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_'s Greatest Hits, Vol. II” There was no volume I! I though it might have been Mason Williams, but a search of his discography shows no such title.

Also, “Big Lizard in my Backyard” and “Not Richard but Dick” by the Dead Milkmen, as well as “Electriclarryland” and “Independent Worm Saloon” by the Butthole Surfers.

And finally, the CD from which I took my name, the Red Hot Chili Peppers “BloodSugarSexMagik.”

I have no idea why, but one album title popped into my head when I saw the OP and it won’t go away.

Paul McCartney - Ram

I’ve never listened to the album, I don’t know what songs are on it, but I just love that name for an album.

And let’s not forget the Buttholes’ other inimitable titles:

**Cream Corn from the Socket of Davis
Rembrandt Pussyhorse
Locust Abortion Technician
Widowmaker!
Pioughd**

And then of course there is Gwar:

**Hell-O!
Scumdogs of the Universe
America Must Be Destroyed**

They had a video, too, entitled **Phallus in Wonderland**.

The titles I like tend toward either the dramatic or the silly:

**Give 'Em Enough Rope** The Clash

**All This And World War II** Movie Soundtrack, but of Beatles tunes

**How Can You Be In Two Places At Once When You’re Not Anywhere At All** The Firesign Theater (bought unaware of the contents, solely because of the title and cover art, which proclaimed “All Hail Marx and Lennon.” With pictures of Groucho and John, of course. Wotta find!

**My Aim Is True** Elvis Costello. Declaration of honesty and honor. Album cover art’s pretty nifty too.

**Atom Heart Mother** Pink Floyd. Never heard it, but you wanted a title I liked. Ditto for “Have A Cigar.”

**The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway** Early Genesis (with Peter Gabriel, not Phil Collins). Again, never heard, but saw it in a book by Hipgnosis, the people who designed the cover. Looked really impressive.

**Tales of Topographic Oceans** My first Yes album. Thinking about it makes me want to break out the black light, the lava lamp, the beanbag chairs and dive back into 1975.

Oh, and one more: “All You Need Is Cash.” Which is not really an album title, unless you want to attach it to the Rutles greatest hits collection. Mention this because I remember that there’s a collection of albums inside, including Stig when he was with the Punk Floyd, showing him with a giant paperclip through his head.
