Albums you have to listen to from start to finish

“Enema of the State” by Blink 182–This cd has grown on me over time…I at least like every track on it.

“Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen and Bat Out of Hell by Meatloaf

Led Zeppelin IV

Pink Floyd: Just about every album

Fiona Apple: Tidal

Paul Simon: Graceland

I’m sure there are more…

pedro the lion- winners never quit.
WInners never quit is a concept album and the stroy is so depressing that you have to listen to it all the way through or else it doesnt work.

Radiohead- OK computer. I dont even need to say why, in my opinion it is the best guitar based album ever.

Elvis Costello, Mighty Like a Rose – There really is no thematic or musical continuity, but the album feels cohesive somehow.

Cindy Morgan – Listen

OK Computer is a good pick. The guys say it’s not a concept album (I felt it was one, but I’ll take their word for it.) Still, it’s very cohesive and the total effect is even greater than the many excellent songs.

Weezer’s Pinkerton. It works like there’s an overall plot. The order of the songs is tremendously important. The songs aren’t particularly good (it can hardly make any singles) but the album is spectacular. I tried listening to it like I normally do, but the album meant nothing to me until I listened to it from Tired of Sex to Butterfly. It became one of my favorite ever albums.

Gary Numan - Replicas

All the songs just flow together so well. It doesn’t feel right stopping it mid-album.

To all who said “Pros and Cons of Hitchhinkin” I emphatically agree.

Also,

Planet P Projects “Pink World” (for the space cadets)

Todd Rundgren “Initiation”

Zappa “Joe’s Garage”

Jon Anderson’s "“Olias of Sunhillow”

Yes " Topographic Oceans"

Any and all Pink Floyd

Kate Bush " The Red Shoes"

Genesis “Foxtrot” and " The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway"

Peter Gabriel " Us"
Just to name a few for now

Neat – I came in here to mention Pedro the Lion’s Control, which works the same way.

The oft-mentioned album - The Wall. Not only do I have to listen to the entire piece, but I always make sure that I have enough time set aside to do so.
