# Alcohol: Different but equal?

Ever since high school they’ve been telling me that one beer equals one shot equals one glass of wine. If these are the same, why does 6 whiskeys put me under the table, but 6 beers just gets me started?

It takes you longer to drink 6 beers than it does to drink 6 whiskeys. Also, your stomach contents have a lower concentration of alcohol when you drink beer.
