Alec is suing the prosecutors for malicious prosecution. While he’s probably not wrong, and he probably has a fairly strong case against then, I feel like he’s pushing his luck. Yep, the prosecutors clearly were doing it for the publicity, but sometime you have to let go. ---

Considering special prosecutor Kari Morrissey was all-in on taking down Baldwin up to the end, and considering the DA’s office made noises about “not _exhaustively_ prosecuting this” when they withdrew their appeal (with the implication that, under the law, they _could_), this might be a pre-emptive attempt to shut down any further efforts by the state to revive the matter. Getting the DA’s people on the record as to why they prioritized Baldwin’s prosecution when there were many other people ahead of him in the chain of responsibility would go a long way toward achieving that. ---
