Those jokes were completely stupid, except maybe the first one. So, did Alex catch the thief, or just chase after her? ETA, never mind, I read the SF story. ---

I saw the report on the news last night, and the hotel and the police went out of their way not to say who it was who ran after the burglar - though Trebek talked about it during his speech. Now, there was someone else in the room, presumably female, since jewelry and a purse were taken. Is there a Mrs. Trebek? And still unknown is how some random person got into the room at 2:30 am. ---

I’m wondering how she got into the room. Apparently this was at a downtown Marriot hotel, and in my experience decent hotels have fairly sturdy doors with good locks. (I don’t even think you can deliberately leave the door unlocked.) ---

Yah, I’m thinking she was a hooker, hired for a 3-way with the wife. Alex & the wife passed out from all the booze and drugs, and the hooker thought she could make off with some freebies. Being a tough Canadian, Alex woke up to get more booze and drugs and caught the hooker making a getaway. ---

He’s got my sympathy. I tore my achilles tendon a few years ago, and you have no idea how much it hurts to walk. It took 18 months to heal, without surgery, and being extremely careful on stairs.
