That’s Lowcountry _South_ Carolina. North Carolina barbecue is tomato-based west of Lexington, and vinegar-based (the way God intended it) in eastern NC.
I’d call thst a nitpick, except barbecue is _important._

Well, I think we have the technology to cut and move the blocks. But financing it would be extremely difficult. So, in a really nitpicking way, in an aspect completely different from what she intended, she might technically be correct.

When I took anthropology 101, one day the professor asked us a series of questions about our natural world. When is the next full moon? When does the rainy season start? And nobody in the class was quite sure about any of the questions he was asking. And he just said, “You don’t know because it’s not important to you.” He was right, it didn’t matter to me when the next full moon was, I didn’t need to know when the rain came, and I sure don’t need to know when the solstice is.
But for a lot of ancient humans the answers to those questions were important. And they observed and invented ways to keep track of that information.

You don’t have to go back that far. There were also all the master masons who built magnificent cathedrals in the old (and new) world, which will probably be attributed to aliens 10,000 years from now.

PS in one of my old sci fi mags, there was a report of a film “in pre-production” of a painting of aliens with dog heads supervising a high tech building of a pyramid, probably with anti-grav tech. Someone made the painting. I wonder what ever happened to the movie.

Regarding alien help, besides the obvious (there is no proof aliens have visited earth, or even exist for that matter), this kind of thinking just slays me. An advance civilization that can build rockets capable of interstellar travel, travels many light years to get to earth just to teach earth plebes how to stack rocks!? What-the-everloving-fuck? Why not give them electricity, engines, flight? Any of those things would probably be easier than building a pyramid. And what possible reason would the aliens have for helping a pharaoh build a big honkin’ tomb? Why not a town square for everyone, or better yet, a water tower?
And if you going to show then how to quarry limestone, show them steel for god’s sake.
Think of it, you are a pharaoh, and giant spaceship lands in your yard and announces, “We are here to help you stack rocks!”. I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that a pharaoh is going say, “Nah, fuck that, I’ll take the ship”.
Blows. My. Mind.

Financing is more a matter of desire rather than ability. I imagine Jeff Bezos could finance the construction of a pyramid if he so desired. But why would he?

Does it have to be made of solid stone to count? The Luxor hotel is about the same size as the Red Pyramid but a helluva lot more useful because it’s hollow.
